PT-141 . Also known as bremelanotide is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide melanocortin receptor agonist with an active research literature in reproductive neuroendocrinology and central nervous system pharmacology. This reference is for Irish research groups working with PT-141 in preclinical protocols.
PT-141 is a metabolite of Melanotan-II modified to remove melanocyte-stimulating activity while retaining melanocortin receptor agonism. It is a cyclic heptapeptide (Ac-Nle-cyclo[Asp-His-D-Phe-Arg-Trp-Lys]-OH) that engages melanocortin receptors , most notably MC4R, with additional MC3R and MC1R activity.

Follow the standard technique in our reconstitution guide. Bacteriostatic water is the standard diluent. Reconstituted PT-141 is stable at 2–8 °C for approximately 3–4 weeks. Protect from light where the compound’s stability data indicates light sensitivity.
