How researchers reconstitute a peptide vial

Standard research protocol for a lyophilised peptide vial:

1. Allow both the peptide vial and the bacteriostatic water to reach room temperature (15–20 minutes)
2. Wipe both rubber stoppers with a 70% isopropyl alcohol swab
3. Draw the required volume of bacteriostatic water into a sterile syringe (see reconstitution guide linked below for peptide-specific volumes)
4. Insert the needle at a 45° angle into the peptide vial and inject slowly down the side wall , do NOT stream directly onto the powder cake
5. Swirl gently. Do NOT shake. Allow 5–10 minutes for complete dissolution
6. Label the vial with compound name, concentration, reconstitution date, and expiry (28 days from date if refrigerated)
7. Store at 2–8°C between assays
